2004 PINOT NOIR
Waitaki Braids inaugural 2004 Pinot Noir.
The wine shows an earthy expression on the nose with a spicy character reminiscent of cinnamon and allspice. The palate displays a firm structure that is surprising in a wine from such young vines, with chewy tannins. The wine was a challenge to make with such unique and unknown qualities, but the result is a wine with an interesting personality, balancing elegance and class with a trace of feral that is quite intriguing.
